How eBay's Final Value Fee works in 2026

Since 2023, eBay's FVF is the single fee that includes payment processing. Most categories sit at 13.35%, but books/music/movies are 14.95% and electronics are usually 9.35%. The fee applies to the total the buyer pays — item + shipping + sales tax (sales tax is then refunded back).

The formula

total          = item + shipping
FVF            = total × FVF rate (category-dependent)
per-order fee  = $0.30 (when total >= $10)
intl fee = total × 1.65% (if buyer outside seller country)
net per sale   = total − FVF − per-order − intl − product cost

Why category matters more than you think

Selling a $400 phone? FVF is 9.35% = $37.40. The same $400 in books? 14.95% = $59.80. That's a $22 swing on the same revenue, and most cross-listers never notice until they reconcile.
