How TikTok Shop fees work in 2026

TikTok Shop's fee stack has three predictable layers — commission, payment processing, and (optionally) creator commission — plus one wildcard: shipping subsidies you absorb to get on TikTok's "free shipping" badge program.

The formula

commission     = sale price × commission rate (5-8% by category)
transaction    = sale price × ~2.9% + ~$0.30 (region-dependent)
affiliate      = sale price × creator commission rate (if any)
ship subsidy   = whatever you absorb to qualify for free-ship badge
net per sale   = sale price − commission − transaction − affiliate − ship subsidy − cost

Why creator commissions are dangerous

Sellers commonly set a 20% creator commission to drive viral pushes. On a product with 30% gross margin, that wipes out two-thirds of your profit per sale. The math only works if creator-driven volume more than 3x your baseline — verify with this calculator before signing up creators.
